One of the most historically significant and beautifully prepared Jaguar E-Types currently racing in historic motorsport. Chassis 875073 is not just a car—it’s a legend on wheels, boasting a storied past, race-winning pedigree, and exceptional preparation for historic motorsport events. A centerpiece of any collection.

Originally delivered to Jaguar Cars in New York in June 1961, this Series I Roadster was soon destined for greatness. Acquired in 1963 by David Dooley, it dominated the SCCA circuit, racking up 15 wins, a Mid-West Division BP Championship, and even an overall victory at Lake Garnett. Its impressive career included racing against legends like Peter Revson and Peter Gregg at events such as the Bahamas Speed Week.

Further accolades followed with subsequent owners, including a 1974 C Production class championship. More recently, the car has competed in the Goodwood Revival RAC TT 4 times and winning it outright in 2023, with the World Mutable Touring car Champion Andy Priaulx behind the wheel.

The car was full restored and race prepared for the then owner, World Sports Car Champion and 3x Le Mans Winner, Andre Lotterer in 2020, the car was entrusted to marque experts Valley Motorsport, Restored to “Semi-Lightweight” specification. Lotterer himself described the car as “the best balanced and comfortable historic GT car to drive and push on the limit.”

Finished in a stunning livery paying homage to David Dooley’s achievements, the car showcases a meticulous attention to detail, blending period-correct authenticity with race-ready performance. 

Under the stewardship of three-time Le Mans winner André Lotterer, this E-Type continued to shine on the global stage. It earned front-row starting positions and competitive finishes at the Goodwood Revival RAC TT Celebration, racing against the likes of Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button.
